Solenoid valves are used to control the flow of fluids or gases, by opening or closing an orifice in the valve body to release, shut off, mix, direct or distribute fluids. The orifice is controlled by a plunger which is raised when energised or lowered when de-energised, this is achieved by energising the solenoid coil within a core tube.
WHERE ARE SOLENOID CONTROL VALVES USED?
Solenoid valves are used in many different industrial applications such as fluid power motors, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, calibration stands and various others.
To name a few sectors where solenoid valves are used:
- Pressure relief and drainage
- Transport and tank facilities
- Oil and gas burner temperature controls
- Treatment of drinking water
- Machine and plant engineering
- Fire protection and extinguishing systems
